Product Description
The Takara Sugiyama is all about keeping things simple and getting it done without breaking the bank. At the heart of the Sugiyama you’ll find a strong hand crafted steel frame with horizontal dropouts that can handle the abuse of the big city. City riders told us that they didn’t need derailleurs so we listened and outfitted the Sugiyama with a flip flop hub so you can run it as a fixed gear or in standard freewheel single speed mode without having to worry about adjustments to temperamental components. The 32 hole alloy wheels roll on loud Kenda 700 x 32 tires that are capable of withstanding less than perfect roads. Front and rear alloy side pull brakes round out this spectacular spec.

Takara Sugiyama flat bar sinle speed bike is a great ride at a great price.
It took approx. 30 minutes to set-up out of the box; very straight forward.
Added toe clips and water bottle cage. I did remove kick stand as I don't
feel I need it. Bike came with blue front and white rear tires. Although the
look is cool the quality is low end and after getting a flat after first ride
I'd highly recommend spending the $20 per tire to get "beefier" rode tires. I
hadn't been shifting my old bike (20 years plus); keeping chain in middle front
and 16 tooth rear thus the single-speed was not much of a change. I will say with
out the gear configuaration in the rear it is a much smoother ride. I know the rear
wheel can be flipped to make it a fixed speed, but I like the advantage of being able
to coast at times with the single speed side. So, easy assembly and a great price. If
better tires I'd have said 5 out of 5 stars. I give it 4 out of 5 stars.

Got this bike early as promised. Packaged neatly and tightly. I come from NO biking history whatsoever and was able to assemble this bike with moderate ease. This bike is definitely an eye catcher and feels great. It's super lightweight and has a comfy seat. The brakes are decent but you might want to change them if possible. As of right now, I am trying this bike out on FREEWHEEL mode. You can alternate by flipping the rear wheel to the opposite side to choose FIXED gear. Make sure to do your research on which is best for you and your environment. Anyways, this bike is fast, light, and comfortable and a bargain at only $181.50 with shipping! For reference, I am 5'4" and chose the 54cm frame and it's a joy to ride. It is a workout, even on freewheel mode. So why choose this Freewheel/Fixie bike? Comfort, portability (lightweight,) fast, good commuter, and perfect for just about anyone looking for a stylish bike. The color scheme is insanely gorgeous. The pics I will post don't do this bike justice. Comes with a kickstand and front/rear reflectors.
P.S. I will give another review when I have broken this bike in and tried the fixed gear as well as add new customized gadgets to this bike. Enjoy!!

This bike also has reflectors on the pedals. The pedals color matches the blue tone of the front tire. Also, the handle grips are extremely comfortable for longer riding. A lot of attention was given to this bike during the creation of this bike. It's seriously beautiful and comfortable. I'm trying to give you the most detailed review so hopefully it can help everyone interested in this bike. I am posting picures to hopefully help all of you even more. Thanks Amazon for yet another incredible purchase experience!

This bicycle is an awesome one to be had at this price. I purchased it after my previous K2 Zed 3.29 Mountain Bike was stolen. This was a great choice for me since I mainly use my bike for commuting purposes. Actually, that's the only purpose for a bike in my life. Anyway, I don't have anything to "complain" about as far as cosmetics and the like. The colors were well thought out before this beauty came into being. It's very easy to assemble whether you have tools or not. (Had To Visit Campus Bike Store To Finish Assembly) If you have any experience with ordering bikes online you'll know what I mean. I had everything assembled except the pedals, front wheel, and handlebars. I needed to wrench on the pedals, tighten the nuts on the front wheel, and adjust/tighten the handle bars. Overall, if I had the tools it would've taken me about 20 minutes give or take. The tires are nice and sturdy, even when I have Jazz Ensemble rehearsal and I have to carry my hefty bass guitar with me. I think one reviewer said his/her tires blew the first use or something like that. I've come to the conclusion that unless you are, plain, too big for this bike you will be fine. I weigh around 150lb and this bike rides just as smooth as if someone weighing 100lb was riding it. I purchased a nice lock to keep this baby out of the hands of thieves. (Not Important) Um...the seat is pretty comfortable. The overall weight of the bike is good considering I have to lug this thing up 2 flights of stairs. (small flights, but still...) The pedals are extremely small considering I have size 13 feet. Regardless, it would've been nice to have some bigger pedals to put on this thing. I guess that's the only "complaint" I have about this bike. I ordered the 58cm frame because I am 6'1", and it fits nicely. The handlebar grips are nice..with an oblong section for added grip or whatever. Overall, I am impressed with this bicycle. I recommend this as a 'commuter' bike as it will definitely do the job as long as you respect the bike and use your brain when commuting sketchy (cracked, uneven, etc) roads and such. I hope to have this bike all through college.
