I shopped and shopped, and finally decided on this bike. I felt it really had the most to offer for the money; I wanted a nice 'starter' bike for road biking. I didn't want to go way too cheap and buy a piece of junk (which I have always had), and I didn't want to spend too much initially either. This bike is put together nicely, and it rides great. You can easily compare it to 700, 800 plus dollar bikes in other places. I paid 550 for it from Amazon. I am a bike mechanic, so I have built lots of bikes; this bike comes with quality components all the way around. If you prefer super high quality components, like shifters for instance, you can always upgrade those individually. I plan to customize/upgrade/replace the shifters and the sprockets later on, after I get some use out of the ones that came with the bike and when I have figured out what will work best for me on there. Overall, extremely pleased. Quality is better than or as well as expected. I did buy a padded seat cover, and may change out the seat altogether to a more padded one. I am fairly heavy at 6' 250 lbs (mostly muscle) and those little seats with nearly zero point zero padding on them are not for me. Hope this helps you out.

This bike is extraordinary. I love how smooth and fast I can ride on this road bike. I just want to clarify that this is the first road bike that I own but before having this bike I was riding on a hybrid bike and it was very hard to keep up with my friends on long trips (25 miles +) with that bike. This bike allows me to ride at the same pace as my friends with more expensive road bikes. I got this bike on a great deal from amazon for only $400. Here are some things that you need to know before you buy it:
- Assembly is easy but you will need to calibrate the gears before you start riding it. There are several videos online in how to do this but you will probably spend alot of time before you can make it just right. If you are willing to spend some money, take it to your local bike shop and they can do this for you.
- Also the wheels on this bike have a thinner kind of valve which are called "presta" valves so you will need a special pump or a accessory to use a regular pump.
- Basic things you will need to start riding will be a water bottle, helmet, gloves (for extended rides), an on board computer to measure your speed, distance, time, and calories burned and a bike stand so that you can stand your bike since it does not have one.
- Also please note that the pedals on this bike work with any shoe and the have a strap to secure your foot on it in order to ride it, you can remove the shoe holders if you dont like them but it will make you less efficient while riding.
The last thing that i would like to comment on is the proper sizing of a bike. I recommend you going to a local bike shop and finding out what are your measurements before you buy the bike. It is very important that you choose the proper bike size so that you can ride more efficiently and not get injured while riding.
To summarize: this is a great bike for starters and for a great price. Once its calibrated correctly it rides very smooth and very light. I have seen this bike for $700 -$800 at the store. I hope this review is helpful!

Assembly was intuitive, all the tools needed were provided. No pedals are shown in the picture but they are included. I had the derailers adjusted at a shop for around 30$ - you'll probably want to have this done - once complete it rode perfectly.
